Want to be part of a movie discussion group? Then join other movie fans as we gather together to watch and discuss films ranging from old classics to new releases at The Film Alcove! We then have a round table discussion immediately following in which we record a podcast by fans, not critics.

This week is the 1962 classic"To Kill A Mockingbird" starring Gregory Peck. Based on Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize winning book of 1960. Atticus Finch is a lawyer in a racially divided Alabama town in the 1930s. He agrees to defend a young black man who is accused of raping a white woman. Many of the townspeople try to get Atticus to pull out of the trial, but he decides to go ahead. How will the trial turn out - and will it change any of the racial tension in the town?

Even if you have already seen it, it is worth another viewing!

It is free to attend but to help us plan we ask that you rsvp from our website. You don't have to, but we appreciate the effort. You can also listen to past discussions, subscribe to the podcast, and see the upcoming schedule when you visit the The Film Alcove website.

This week is Stephen Frear's "High Fidelity" starring John Cusak and Jack Black. High Fidelity follows the 'mid-life' crisis of Rob (Cusack), a thirty-something record-store owner who must face the undeniable facts - he's growing up. This romantic comedy provides a touching and whimsical glimpse into the male view of the affairs of the heart. The film is rated R for strong language and sexuality.

Even if you have already seen it, it is worth another viewing!
